Martha Bible Study – The Heart of Hospitality: Session 1

$8.99Price

This Martha Bible study explores what happens when good responsibilities begin to distract us from the presence of Jesus.

In Luke 10:38–42, Martha welcomed Jesus into her home and sincerely wanted to serve Him well. But her service became tangled with worry, comparison, and resentment. Jesus did not condemn Martha for serving—He lovingly redirected her attention to what mattered most.

Distracted by Many Things is Session 1 of the three-part series, Martha: The Heart of Hospitality. Through Scripture, meaningful discussion questions, an interactive object lesson, and practical application, women will examine what has taken the center place in their lives and learn to keep Jesus at the heart of everything they do.

This ready-to-lead study includes:

YOU DON'T HAVE TO CARRY THE WHOLE CONVERSATION.

    Ask-Silence.png

    ✓ You prepared the lesson.

    ✓ You prayed.

✓ You came ready with good questions.

    Then you ask one...

    And the room goes quiet.

    So you reword it.

    You wait.

Eventually, you answer it yourself just to keep things moving.

Before long, you're doing most of the talking—and wondering

why getting women to participate feels so hard.

The answer isn't always a better question.

Sometimes the conversation needs to start long before you

    ask the deep one.

GETTING THEM TALKING ISN'T ABOUT FINDING THE PERFECT QUESTION.

Meaningful conversation doesn't begin with one brilliant discussion question.

It begins by creating a room where women feel comfortable speaking—and knowing how to guide the conversation once they do.

Get Them Talking walks you through five practical parts of that process:

    START EASY

Open the room before you open the discussion.

Learn why a simple icebreaker or conversation starter can lower the pressure, build connection, and make it easier for women to participate when the conversation gets deeper.

    ASK BETTER QUESTIONS

Ask questions that invite women to think—not guess what you're thinking.

Learn how to turn flat or closed questions into open-ended questions that connect Scripture with real life and encourage women to share what they see.

    HANDLE THE SILENCE

Stop treating quiet like an emergency.

Learn what to do after you ask the question—including your simple rhythm:

Ask → Wait → Listen → Follow Up

    GUIDE WHAT HAPPENS NEXT

    Someone answered. Now what?

Learn how to acknowledge what was shared, ask a follow-up, invite another perspective, and know when it's time to move on—without taking over the conversation.

    KEEP SCRIPTURE AT THE CENTER

Conversation is valuable—but it isn't the destination.

Learn how to keep bringing the room back to God's Word and move naturally from reading Scripture to talking about it, discovering what it means, and applying it to real life.

You don't need to control the conversation.
You just need to know how to guide it.

    BUILT IN A REAL ROOM.
    SHAPED BY REAL CONVERSATIONS.

Get Them Talking wasn't created from theory. It grew out of leading my own women's Bible study week after week.

I started paying attention to what happened in the room—what helped women open up, what made conversation stall, and what changed when I stopped feeling like I had to fill every quiet moment myself.

I learned that meaningful discussion often starts before the first Bible study question is ever asked. Starting with easy conversation helps women get comfortable speaking. Better questions help them think. Giving them time to answer makes room for their voices. And knowing how to guide what happens next keeps the conversation moving without taking it over.

Most importantly, I learned that conversation isn't the destination. It should always lead us back to Scripture, where we can discover what God's Word says and how it applies to our lives.

Those real-life lessons became the heart of Get Them Talking.

Real women. Real conversations. Practical tools for leaders who want to create a room where women participate—not just listen.
